Joint training B-52 strategic American bomber and F-16 Fighting Falcon
A B-52 strategic American bomber and F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft endowed by the Romanian Air Force conducted, on Tuesday, September 11, joint training activities in Romania’s airspace, Air Base 57 at Mihail Kogalniceanu and Base 86 Air from Borcea.
The main purpose of the training was to demonstrate the capability of rapid deployment of allied forces in Southeast Europe and consisted of joint missions, air refueling and escorts. Such missions contribute to strengthening reassurance and confidence-building measures on the involvement of the United States in ensuring security in the Black Sea region.
The participation of F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft in this type of activity allows the engagement of Romanian personnel in air and escort missions and contributes to the development of bilateral air cooperation through training and the implementation of joint procedures for the fulfillment of mission objectives.
Joint training activities with the American partner are a key element in ensuring interoperability and success in joint military action.
